ZoneLab has no servers of its own. Your training data lives on your device and, where it syncs at all, in your own private iCloud account — not on infrastructure ZoneLab owns or can read.
What ZoneLab reads from Apple Health
ZoneLab reads specific data from Apple HealthKit — heart rate and workout history — only with your explicit permission, granted in iOS Settings → Health. The app requests read access only, and never writes back to HealthKit. You can revoke any permission at any time, in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → ZoneLab. HealthKit data is processed on-device; ZoneLab does not transmit it to any server, and does not sell or share it with anyone.
What syncs via iCloud
If you're signed into iCloud, ZoneLab syncs your settings (heart rate zones, training targets) and the events you log yourself — field test results, race results, VO₂ calibration entries, saved training plans — using Apple's iCloud key-value store and CloudKit. This data is end-to-end encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple's infrastructure, stored in your own private iCloud database, and is not visible to ZoneLab. If you're signed out of iCloud, or it's unavailable, this data simply stays local to your device.
In-app purchases
ZoneLab offers in-app purchases and subscriptions (Progression, Race Prep, Sync) through Apple's App Store. Payment details, billing, and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple — ZoneLab never sees or stores your payment information. ZoneLab only learns whether a purchase is active, via Apple's StoreKit framework, so it can unlock the relevant feature.
No analytics, no ad tracking
ZoneLab does not embed third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites. There is no ad network integration of any kind.
Data retention and deletion
Deleting ZoneLab from your device removes its local data immediately. Data synced to your iCloud account follows your Apple ID — you can review or delete it at any time via Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your device, independent of whether ZoneLab is still installed. Revoking HealthKit access stops ZoneLab from reading new data immediately; it does not retroactively delete what was already read into your synced ZoneLab data, which you can clear via the steps above.
Children's privacy
ZoneLab is not directed at children under 13, and ZoneLab does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what data ZoneLab reads or how it's used, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
